she scraps

I’ve just started scrapbooking again. Yup. I thought I was reformed. Gave it up. Fully recovered. But I missed playing with paper, especially. Using some of my Etsy earnings, I picked up the Random Collection by Crate Paper. It came out last year, but I’ve been eyeing it for a while. I was able to get a good deal on it so I thought what the heck. To get me inspired and motivated, I visited the Studio Calico message boards and saw that they were having some challenges in honor of the Craft and Hobby Association convention. Always love a good challenge to inspire me.

I made a couple of pages right out of the gate. I made the larger accordion flower out of the packaging of this scrapbook kit. I had this kind of paper flower at my art show,so I  thought it was apropos for this layout. I love this tool for making them. The smaller one was a ready-made embellishment. I made the larger banner using this punch. It was my new favorite punch! The smaller banner came on the sticker sheet for this collection. I also made the scalloped flowers using a different punch.

This second layout uses another of my accordion flowers (with a little kraft paper caption I punched out), plus one of the flyers from my art show, one of my Catshy labels and the small index photos you get from the photo lab along with your prints. Everything else is from Random Collection.

Once I got started, I went back through my scrapbooking stash and found a couple of pages that I never finished. This one was created using a Studio Calico kit. I added a few extra bits (stars on the baker’s twine + washi tape hearts + journal spot + pink baker’s twine around the middle) and called it done.

This one had the photos and title done, but needed some more embellishments. I added some punched doilies and a few things from the Random Collection.

So, do you scrapbook? Do you make cards? I’d love to see! You can leave me a link in the comments if you’d like.

Thanks for stopping by!
