What’s Growing in Your Garden?

All around me spring flowers are opening up. Showing  off their delicate petals and colorful happiness that took all winter to grow. I am always surprised by the first peek of color emerging from the ground. The first green shoots pushing themselves out of the dirt. Anticipating the first blooms, giving you hope after a dreary winter.

Flowers for Mama

My crocuses, hyacinth, daffodils and tulips have already faded but others are blooming anew everyday. Bulbs I planted with my little ones, perennials I brought home last year. I am also lucky to live in a home that was built in 1959 that has mature trees and bushes that bloom every year on their own: magnolia, cherry blossom, lilac and ones I have yet to identify. I love spring!

Highlight of every spring: magnolia tree in bloom.

I am usually content with enjoying them outside — where they are planted and bloomed. But I am now trying to remember to cut some (they don’t last forever!) and bring them inside. To bring some spring indoors. Enjoy the beauty while I’m eating a meal at the dining room table or while I’m creating my felt flowers in my craft studio for my hoops or wreaths. They also make good photo props. Hand your child some flowers and click away! Or better yet let them pick their own. Some lilacs even made an appearance in some of product photos of my latest hoop art. Fresh cut flowers. It’s a good thing.

So…..what’s growing in your garden? I would love to see! Leave a comment and tell me or better yet post a photo on my Facebook Page. Happy spring!
