My family is lucky enough to visit Ashland, Oregon at least once a year to visit my husband’s parents. During this year’s summer visit, we skipped seeing a play during the world-famous Oregon Shakespeare Festival and explored some family-friendly venues instead. Jamie and I even enjoyed a rare night-out to ourselves (thanks to Jamie’s parents!).
Here are a few of the highlights: 1. Dinner at Alchemy 2. The bubble room at Science Works 3. Birdwatching and flower-seeing at North Mountain Park and Nature Center 4. Dinner at House of Thai.
It was our only vacation of the summer and it was just what we needed. The weather was about 20 degrees hotter than our hometown in Washington, so even the heat was a refreshing change. Add in majestic scenery, leisurely days doing crossword puzzles, being unplugged for most of the trip, and eating out almost every night (again, thanks to Jamie’s parents) and it was all good.
What did you do for your summer break? Go anywhere relaxing or fun?
