In case you haven’t, let me give you the 411. Pinterest is a website where you pin your favorite images on to various boards that you create. It is the online equivalent of tearing out pages from your favorite magazines and pinning it to a bulletin board. You are basically curating your own gallery of eye candy. I have my own Pinterest boards here. I have boards like “party inspiration” to give me ideas for my girls’ parties or “scrapbook pages I love” to give me idea about my next scrapbook page or “yummy recipes” etc. You get the idea.
It’s a great way to keep track of all those sites you stumble upon and want to remember. The best part about Pinterest is that you share your boards with people who “follow” you. And you can follow other inspiring pinners as well. It’s quite interactive….and addictive. People can “like” your pins, comment on your pins and even “re-pin” your pins.
Now this brings me to my next question.
Now, have you heard of The Pinterest Challenge?
Chances are, if you are crafty or love DIY, you are pinning an image because it inspires you. Or moves you. And eventually (some day?) you want to make that something. For example, I have a board called “Things I Want To Make.” That’s where The Pinterest Challenge comes in.
The challenge is simply to make something inspired by something you pinned. Then you share the link to your project as well as the original source of the pin. Then a winner is chosen and fabulous prizes are given away.
That’s where I come in. At least for this month of June (Round 9). The lovely Rebecca from BetterLifeBags, a fellow Etsy seller and blogger, invited me to be a sponsor for this month’s challenge. I immediately said yes because I love Pinterest and I love Etsy!
And here’s what I’m giving away to the winner (who will be chosen by the guest “pinhead” this month : Ann Marie from White House Black Shutters).
So, I hope you do check out the challenge!
Thanks for stopping by today!
