What is Sneak Peek Sunday? Each week, I will share a peek of a new item coming to my shop. A tidbit of crafty news or upcoming event. A project I’m in the throes of or a progress update of my neverending studio re-organization. It will be a behind-the-scenes access to Catshy Crafts and a way to learn more about me, a mom of two young girls and wife to an indie game developer who runs a creative business out of her home. ANIMAL HOUSE
My daughters love adorable animals – stuffies, stuffed animals, cute drawings of animals and of course the real thing (cats and bunnies are their faves).
So I guess it was only a matter of time before I introduced some felt animals into the fold.
Of course, I knew that my very first animal would be of the feline persuasion. I am a cat lover (even though I am horribly allergic). But I just did not know what it would it look like. Until a few weeks ago, that is.
With some snips of felt and some lovely stitches, I have created a new collection of embroidery hoop art which I will introduce to you – one by one – in the coming weeks. Ready to see the very first one?
Here she is!
Not only is this kitty adorable with her pink cheeks and nose, but she is well-dressed! You can see a peek of her lilac top with peter pan collar. She is accessorized with a teeny tiny felt flower tucked behind her ear. Her sweet eyes and mouth are hand-stitched in chocolate brown thread.
What a cute way to decorate a child’s room! This hoop art can be personalized with a name or left blank. I would love to offer even more customization. For example, wouldn’t it be fun to choose the color of the flower, scalloped collar or blouse? Or to resemble the favorite kitty in your life?
