she believed she could so she did : how I became BRIKA’s featured maker

Funny story. About 4 years ago, I applied for BRIKA – a curated marketplace that I thought was full of amazing handmade art and goods. I loved making hoop art and playing with felt and creating wall art, but was always taken aback when someone would like it and actually buy one!

Surprisingly, I was accepted to BRIKA. I couldn’t quite believe that I was chosen and didn’t quite believe I was good enough to be there. I didn’t quite believe in myself. So, I never sent in my photos or information and quietly let this opportunity pass.

Fast forward to this spring. I sent my application in a second time, and lo and behold, I got accepted once again. I still had my doubts but that fearful voice was a little quieter. That voice of not being good enough was being drowned out by one that said “yes you are good enough”.

So many things had changed since the last time I was accepted. The biggest change was my divorce after 15 years of marriage. Suddenly, my divorce made my business so much more vital to me – more than financially, but as a creative outlet that sustained me through this transformation. This business gave me a focus. Grounded me. It made me grow. It brings me joy and today I want to share that joy with you.

So it is with pride and joy that I announce that……

Today I am a featured maker on BRIKA – a curated marketplace of 400+ makers of well-crafted goods. I am so honored to be chosen to showcase my embroidered felt hoop art. And proud of myself for finally showing up for this newest opportunity.

To go along with my 8-piece collection, I created an exclusive design just for BRIKA. With aqua, sky blue, lilac and a touch of butter yellow, this floral 3D hoop art makes me happy. Happy to have continued making art. Happy to have said yes. Happy to create art for your home.
