22 Lovely Baby Girl Names + Meanings

Finding just the right name for your baby girl can be a daunting but exciting endeavor. The name you assign your darling bundle of joy will never be far from your heart.

You will say it softly as you cradle her in your arms, inhaling that sweet delicious scent of your newborn’s crown.

You will say it with a mama’s heart-busting pride as she takes her first steps towards you, your arms outstretched to receive her.

And sooner or later, when she’s a bit older perhaps, you will say it fiercely with authority, to capture her attention when she is in danger (say, running away from you in a parking lot) or just doing something she shouldn’t (like emptying out all the tissues in the box because).

So, it goes without saying that choosing a name for your little girl is one of the biggest decisions you will make.

Over the years, I have come across gorgeous names from my exceedingly wise customers.

Shiloh means peace in Hebrew.

As I hand-stitched these names on each personalized embroidery hoop art, I couldn’t help but admire the uniqueness and variety of these monikers.

Some names I had never heard of before (like Imani, which means faith in Arabic). Some names were tried and true classics, that were making a comeback (like Jane).

And I couldn’t help notice the love and care these lovely mamas had for their little one by deciding to have it forever memorialized on a handmade piece of art. (I love what I do!)

Chase. Traditionally a boy’s name, but super-cute as girl’s name.

From classic to charmingly old-fashioned to romantic and boho, here is my list of most loveliest baby girl names and their meanings (inspired by Catshy Craft customers). I hope it inspires YOU!
